After some challenging weather conditions, the teams are back on the move!
Both Coastal Odyssey and Sea Change had to spend some time at anchor whilst they sheltered from gale force winds.
Coastal Odyssey left their anchorage at West Wittering in the early hours of Monday morning, catching the tide to take them through the Solent and out passing the Needles.
They rowed into Poole Bay and past St Albans Head in the early hours of this morning and we expect them to pass Portland Bill and on into Lyme Bay before midday.
Sea Change had to wait a little longer for the wind to ease enough to allow them to exit from the harbour. They departed from Dover just after 3pm on Monday.
Initially they had to battle against wind over tide waves, but as the tide turned in their favour things became a little easier and they set a course for Dungeness, which they passed in the early hours of this morning taking them into Hastings Bay.
They’re making progress towards Beachy Head, which we expect them to reach late Tuesday evening.
