Plastic Oceans UK are proud to be the leading charity partner for the GB Row Challenge series.
Our mission is to stop plastic reaching the ocean within a generation

Both the GB Row race and Plastic Ocean’s mission are incredibly tough challenges to attempt to surmount. We know they are both achievable but require dedication and effort. Plastic can be an incredibly valuable material – in the right context – it can protect people and help save lives. However, it should not end up in our ocean. Currently, 8 million tonnes of plastic reach our ocean every single year. This is hugely damaging in the marine environment and is impacting our whole ocean system.
Plastic Oceans has led the way on raising awareness about the impacts of ocean plastic pollution for over a decade. We produced the award-winning documentary ‘A Plastic Ocean’, which was praised by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the most important films of our time” and ignited mass public awareness around the issue. By developing globally credible behaviour change programmes, we now aim to empower young leaders and everyone across society to rethink the way we use and value plastic – to become more “plastic intelligent” in all aspects of life
