Sir Richard Branson
“This is one of the most extreme and exciting challenges I have ever come across, rowing around the UK non-stop and un-aided any way and in a competitive race. Definitely the hardest rowing race in the world. How exciting!”
Richard Branson
Dee Caffari
“I’ve experienced some pretty tough sailing conditions on my adventures around the globe, but this endurance rowing race is ultra challenging. Rowing around the UK coastline is difficult enough, but non-stop and unaided in anyway reminds me of the challenges I faced on the Vendee Globe race last year …….I wish all participants in GBRow 2013 every success – they’ll need excellent preparation, good support from family and friends throughout and some luck with the weather! This is an extreme test of mental and physical ability, with raw strength to row 2000 miles and tactical guile to make the best of the winds and tides they will undoubtedly encounter. Fantastic, I hope to watch as much of the event as possible during June 2013.”
Dee Caffari MBE
Ranulph Fiennes
“The circumnavigation of UK coastal waters, non-stop in a 4 man ocean going rowing boat is an epic adventure that will only be
completed by a few intrepid oarsmen. They will need to be strong and determined individuals, yet outstanding as a team – and be
able to work the weather and tides to their advantage. I wish the race every success – it truly is the ultimate endurance challenge and an event I shall be tracking closely as it develops throughout June. Good luck to all who take part.”
