Agathos is proud to support GB Row Challenge – an incredible sporting event with a powerful sustainable purpose. Our Founding Partner, William de Laszlo, completed the event and set a new world record in 2005, and again in 2022 when he took a sabbatical after 9 years working at Agathos and following the successful deployment of Agathos Fund I and raise of >£50m Fund II.
Will is passionate about our oceans and excited that data collected by the rowers and analysed by experts from the University of Portsmouth will build on the report from last year’s event, and greatly enhance our understanding of conditions in the seas around the UK.

Agathos is a London-based private equity fund, backing businesses with strong growth potential that are led by exceptional people with ambition. Agathos will typically work with founder-owned and managed businesses valued up to £25m. Good teams make good business and at Agathos we really understand teams and how to partner with the companies that we invest in. After successful deployment of our maiden fund, Agathos is currently deploying a second fund of >£50m, launched in 2021, supplemented by an evergreen Fund launched in 2023.
All the team at Agathos are backing Team Ithaca on their effort not only to collect the second batch of data but also break the women’s World Record.
