11 May 2005

At 11am the official launch of GB Row Challenge took place at Gunnery Wharf in front of the Tower of London. The Launch Reception, in the presence of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, KG, KT, was hosted by the Outward Bound Trust. The Duke of Edinburgh, patron of the Trust, was given a tour of the boat by the crew, followed by lengthy discussions about the logistics - planned route, food supplies, and navigation equipment. In front of the assembled media and press, crew members gave individual interviews covering all aspects of the challenge and thoughts on the task ahead.
