Anglo American Boat Race 2010
The Anglo American Boat Race is the ultra extreme and hardest open water rowing race in the world today. It is an endurance row, an extreme
test of man and boat. It is being run in the UK this year and will be called the Anglo American Boat Race: GB Row 2010.
So,
Can you row 2010 miles in 2010?
If you can, prove it to yourself in June 2010 by circumnavigating the coast of Great Britain. Become the elite crew that wins this extreme
race, an exacting rowing challenge adapted to meet the needs of world class oarsmen. 99% of Open Ocean rowers need not apply!
You will need a strong team of 4 and a fully equipped boat to become the inaugural champions of this exceptional personal challenge
to become Anglo American Boat Race: GB Row 2010 champions and possibly the new World Record holders.
You will receive no assistance once the flag drops at Tower Bridge in London and the clock starts.
Unaided, yes, unaided throughout (even making your own fresh water)
Non-stop?
So, do you have a team that wants to beat the World Record? The current world record is held by an Army team, set in 2005 at
26 days 21 hours and 14 minutes.
If you beat it there is a prize currently expected to be £30,000 that will complement you crossing the line first and picking up another bounty, expected to be a further £30,000.
Interested? Read on through the site, get a team together and apply now. (Registration for the event has been granted an extension of
one month to end February 2010 and has become Application on Request. This is to allow the 6 boats showing keen interest in the event to
finalise crew and boat details before committing. Note full entry fee payment remains at end Apr 10 as stated in Entry Form)

FOUR intrepid oarsmen have set a new world record by becoming
the first people ever to row non-stop around mainland Britain. The GB Row Challenge crew completed the 2,000 mile journey in 26 days 21 hours 14
minutes to earn their place in the Guinness World Records Book.
Despite being hit by force eight gales and fifty foot waves, capsized by a freak wave which broke two oars
and even running aground, they managed to row an incredible 70 miles a day in their 23-feet-long boat, Outward Bound.
