GB Row Challenge - back on course
July 3 2005

The GB Row Challenge was back on course again on Sunday night, when the crew were freed from Maplin Sands at 7.50pm.

The crew spent almost five hours aground on the notorious Essex sandbank after being left high and dry by the receding tide.

At just before 8pm, the 23-foot-long Outward Bound was refloated and the crew were back on track for finishing their epic journey at Tower Bridge at 10am on Monday morning to set a world record for rowing non-stop and unassisted around mainland Britain.

After rowing under Tower Bridge they will tie up alongside Tower Pier to meet family, friends and some of the thousands of supporters who have been following their amazing endeavour over the last 26 days.
